Whether you’re reuniting with old friends or getting to know new ones, there’s no better way to kick off the new school year than with a concert on campus. In the past we’ve raged to some big names during GYB, from Kehlani to E-40 and this semester it’s gonna be bigger than ever. This welcome week SUPERB is bringing you EDM producer and UC Berkeley graduate, GIRAFFAGE!!!

San Francisco-based producer Giraffage (Charlie Yin) has been a mainstay of the Bay Area EDM scene, recently selling out The Regency Theater earlier this year. Charlie introduced Giraffage midway through his final year in college with his self-released synth-pop debut mixtape, Comfort. Growing up to immigrant parents, he recalls his family’s disapproval for his aspirations in music, however, by the time he graduated UC Berkeley in 2012, he was regularly playing shows across the globe. 

Following his 2013 “Needs” mixtape, a project that showcased his versatility as a producer and “omnivorous music lover,” as noted by Pitchfork, Yin supported Porter Robinson on a world tour while also touring with other names such as Phantogram, Flume and XXYYXX. 

Recently, Giraffage has continued to tour and play major international festivals while releasing his LP “Too Real,” an album representing different moments in Giraffage’s creative journey and one that Billboard describes as being “ready for the club, the bedroom, or the long drive.”

Opening for Giraffage will be DJ/producer duo, BEAUZ!!! These brothers have amassed an EDM following, with their viral remixes of Kendrick Lamar, Chainsmokers, Cardi B and their official remixes for Cash Cash and Tritonal reaching over 20 million streams across platforms.
