Remember when La La Land won Best Picture at the 2017 Academy Awards?... Oh right… that was Moonlight.

However, Moonlight should be remembered more for its message than that disastrous award show mixup. From acclaimed director Berry Jenkins, Moonlight is the coming of age story of a young black boy named Chiron. Set in Miami, this film takes audiences through three heartbreaking yet joyful chapters of Chiron’s life through emotional performances from Mahershala Ali and Trevante Rhodes and incredible cinematography.
